PayAssure Opt-In | Vida Federal Credit Union

Federal law requires your opt-in. Under federal Regulation E, Vida cannot authorize ATM and everyday debit card transactions that would overdraw your account unless you specifically opt in. This form is how you make that choice.

What is PayAssure?

PayAssure is Vida's transaction coverage service. When a purchase or ATM withdrawal would otherwise be declined because your available balance is too low, PayAssure can authorize the transaction at Vida's discretion. It also covers Electronic Withdrawal/Automatic Payment transactions. Your account may temporarily go negative until your next deposit brings it positive.

The difference at Vida: there is no overdraft fee, no NSF fee, and no PayAssure service fee. The service is offered as a free coverage option for members who want it.

Vida does not charge overdraft fees on any account, with or without PayAssure.

No non-sufficient funds fees. If a transaction is declined, there is no charge.

No, decline PayAssure (Opt Out). I do not want Vida to authorize ATM withdrawals or everyday debit card transactions that would overdraw my account. Vida will decline those transactions when my available balance is insufficient. I will not be charged a declined-transaction fee.

What PayAssure covers. If you opt in, PayAssure may cover ATM withdrawals and everyday (one-time) debit card transactions that would otherwise be declined for insufficient available funds. Coverage is provided at Vida's discretion and is not guaranteed for any specific transaction.

What PayAssure does not cover. Checks, ACH (electronic) transactions, recurring debit card payments, in-branch withdrawals, and online transfers are not covered by this Regulation E opt-in. Those transactions are handled under Vida's separate overdraft and NSF policies. Because Vida charges no overdraft or NSF fees, these transactions will simply be declined if funds are insufficient.

Fees. Vida does not charge an overdraft fee, an NSF fee, or a PayAssure service fee. This applies whether or not you opt in. There is no charge for opting in or opting out.

Bringing your account positive. If a PayAssure transaction causes your account to go negative, you are responsible for bringing the account back to a positive balance promptly through deposit or transfer. Your subsequent deposits and incoming transfers will be applied to the negative balance first.

Coverage limits. Your individual coverage limit is determined by Vida based on factors that may include account history, deposit patterns, and overall member relationship. Coverage limits are not disclosed in advance and may change over time. Vida may decline any individual transaction at its discretion even if you have opted in.

Changing your choice. You may change your PayAssure opt-in status at any time by submitting a new form, by calling Vida at (909) 983-1959, or by visiting the branch at 1520 N. Palmetto Ave., Ontario, CA. Changes are typically effective within 1 to 2 business days.

Effective date. Your opt-in or opt-out election takes effect when Vida processes this request, typically within 1 to 2 business days of receipt.

No other agreement modified. This Regulation E opt-in election applies only to ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card transactions. It does not modify your account agreement, your Visa Debit Cardholder Agreement, or any other agreement you have with Vida.
