The stuff people ask first.
Why do I need a Regular Savings account first?
The Regular Savings account is your membership account. Opening it makes you a member-owner of Vida. As a member-owner you get access to every other product. You can't have a credit union account without it.
What's the difference between Plus and Advantage?
Both pay higher dividend rates than Regular Savings. Plus opens at $10,000 minimum. Advantage opens at $25,000 minimum and pays the highest of the three rates. Same product family, different balance tiers.
Is there a penalty for early withdrawal?
No. Not on any of the savings accounts including Holiday Savings. Pull your money when you need it. The trade-off versus a CD is that the dividend rate is lower, but the flexibility is total.
When does Holiday Savings pay out?
The first business day in November every year. You can enroll any time, deposit any amount any time, and adjust your auto-deposits whenever you want. November payout is the only fixed thing.
Can I have all four savings accounts at once?
Yes. Many members do. Regular for membership, Plus or Advantage for a primary balance, and Holiday Savings for the year-end fund. Each is a separate account with its own dividend treatment.
Is my money FEDERALLY insured?
Yes. Every Vida account is federally insured by the NCUA up to $250,000 per owner. That's the credit union equivalent of FDIC insurance. Backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. Estimate your exact coverage with the NCUA Share Insurance Estimator.
