Where Money Market
sits on the ladder.
Three deposit products, three trade-offs. Savings gives total flexibility. CDs commit your money for the highest rate. Money Market sits in the middle: better rate than savings, easier access than a CD.
Total access. Move money in and out anytime. Lower dividend rate is the trade-off for that flexibility.
Higher rate than savings with check-writing access. Five withdrawals per month, no time limit, no monthly fee.
Secure a rate for a fixed term. Highest dividend rate of the three. Early withdrawal penalty applies if you break the term.

The stuff people ask first.
How is this different from regular savings?
Money Market earns a higher dividend rate. The trade-off: a $2,500 minimum and a 5-withdrawal limit per month. If you don't need to move money frequently and you can park $2,500 or more, it pays more than your Regular Savings account would.
How is it different from a CD?
A CD commits your money for a set term and pays the highest rate. Money Market earns less than a CD but stays within reach. You can write checks against it. Pick CDs for money you won't need; pick Money Market for money you might.
What if I make more than 5 withdrawals in a month?
Excess withdrawals get a per-transaction fee. If you find yourself near the limit regularly, you're better off moving the active portion of those funds to a checking account.
Are the checks really free?
Yes. Your standard check order is included free at account opening. That's a $15 value at most credit unions. Custom check designs or reorders may carry a charge.
Can I get to this money at a branch or ATM?
Yes. Deposit and withdraw at 5,600+ CO-OP Shared Branches nationwide and use surcharge-free CO-OP ATMs — find a location, or text your ZIP code to 91989.
What's the withdrawal minimum?
$100 per withdrawal. Smaller transactions should run through your checking account. This keeps the Money Market account doing what it does best: holding a balance and earning.
Can I lose access if my balance dips below $2,500?
The account requires a $2,500 minimum balance to maintain. If your balance drops below, contact Vida directly to discuss options. Don't open a Money Market account if you don't have a steady $2,500 to keep in it.
