Your rights under Regulation E. Under federal Regulation E, you have specific rights regarding unauthorized electronic fund transfers (including unauthorized Zelle transactions) from your Vida account. Your liability for unauthorized transactions depends on how quickly you report them. If your card, phone or online banking credentials were lost or stolen, reporting within 2 business days after you learn of it limits your liability to $50; reporting later can raise it to $500. Report any unauthorized transaction that appears on a statement within 60 days of the statement date; after 60 days you could be liable for later unauthorized transfers that a prompt report would have stopped.
Vida's investigation. Vida will investigate your dispute and report the results to you within 10 business days of your notice (20 business days for an account open less than 30 days). If Vida needs more time, it will provisionally credit your account for the disputed amount within 10 business days and finish the investigation within 45 days (90 days for a point-of-sale or foreign transaction). Vida will tell you the results within 3 business days after the investigation ends and, if it finds that no error or unauthorized transfer occurred, will explain its findings in writing.
What you authorize by submitting this form. You authorize Vida to investigate the disputed transaction(s), to share necessary information with Zelle, the Early Warning Services network, the recipient's financial institution, law enforcement, and other parties as required to investigate and recover funds. You authorize Vida to take reasonable actions to protect your account, including temporarily restricting Zelle access, freezing the affected account, or requiring identity verification before further transactions.
What "unauthorized" means. An unauthorized transaction is one initiated by a person other than you who has no actual, implied, or apparent authority for the transaction, and from which you receive no benefit. Transactions you initiated, even if you were deceived about who you were sending money to or what the money was for, may NOT qualify as "unauthorized" under Reg E. If your dispute involves a transaction you initiated but believe was the result of a scam or error, use the Zelle Error Dispute form instead.
False reports. Knowingly providing false information in this dispute is a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. § 1014 and may also constitute fraud under state law. By submitting this form, you certify that the information you provide is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Cooperation. You agree to cooperate fully with Vida's investigation, to respond promptly to requests for additional information or documentation, and to file a police report if requested by Vida.
Provisional credit. If provisional credit is issued during the investigation, it may be reversed if Vida concludes after investigation that the transaction was, in fact, authorized.
Account protection. Vida may, at its discretion, take protective actions on your account during the investigation, including but not limited to: temporarily restricting Zelle and other electronic transfers, issuing a new debit card, requiring identity verification, and freezing the affected account.
